A witness is not credible if they hold a conflict of interest in the transaction, which ORC 147.50(D) defines as a direct financial or other interest in the transaction, or being named as a party to that transaction — as grantor, grantee, mortgagor, trustee, beneficiary, vendor, lessor, lessee or in another party capacity. Merely being mentioned somewhere in a document is not automatically disqualifying, so whether a given family member qualifies depends on the specific document. None of the routes is guaranteed in a particular facility, so raise it when booking. A credible identifying witness is a different role from a witness the document itself requires.
